    Stanislav A. Trunov

Hello, I am Stanislav Trunov but most people call me Stas. I am currently a 5th year graduate student at Kansas State University. I am currently doing research in Topology. Specifically, my research focuses on categories, like the Lusternik–Schnirelmann category, and their relation to the number of critical points for any smooth function on a manifold. After graduating I hope to get a teaching-oriented job at a community college or at a liberal arts college. I enjoy teaching which is why I offered to coordinate intermediate Algebra for K-State and then make a book to help with teaching it. I’m vegan by the way. In my free time I enjoy listening to debates while playing video games.

    Elizabeth J. Hale

Hello!  I am a \(5^{th}\) year math PhD student at Kansas State University.  My research is primarily in Fourier analysis, specifically working with fractional Leibniz rules for pseudodifferential operators in different function spaces.  My other interests lie in machine learning and numerical modeling, and I've had the opportunity to work with NASA the last two summers as a Pathways intern with their Diagnostics and Prognostics Group at the Ames Research Center.  In addition, after teaching and tutoring a variety of math and STEM classes for nearly 10 years, I've discovered a growing passion for math education. Teaching intermediate algebra was a lot of fun, so I have been really excited to work on curating this text designed for intermediate algebra students and hope that it will be helpful for any student looking to strengthen their skillset, as well as any instructor hoping to assist them in their journey!
