Real World Continuity

( \newcommand{\kernel}{\mathrm{null}\,}\)

Types of Discontinuities in the Real World

Decide whether the given real world example includes a Removable Discontinuity, a Jump Discontinuity, an Infinite Discontinuity, or is Continuous.

    Removable Discontinuity
    Jump Discontinuity
    Infinite Discontinuity
    Continuous

f(t) is the function that represents the total mass of the universe over time, t, measured in years since the big bang. t goes from -1,000,000 to 1,000,000. Assume that before the big bang, no matter was present and at the big bang, the universe was suddenly created.

Click on the type of discontinuity (or continuous) that the given function has.
