There are two approaches to the topic of finding the real zeros of a polynomial. The first approach (which is gaining popularity) is to use a little bit of Mathematics followed by a good use of technology like graphing calculators. The second approach (for purists) makes good use of mathematical machinery (theorems) only. For completeness, we include both approaches.

It explains methods such as the Rational Root Theorem, synthetic division, and the use of factoring to identify zeros. The section also discusses the importance of multiplicity and how to interpret the behavior of polynomial graphs at their real zeros. Examples are provided to illustrate these techniques and their applications in solving polynomial equations.
