    • understand the definition of subtraction

    Negative Exponents (Section 3.7)

    • understand the concepts of reciprocals and negative exponents

    • be able to work with negative exponents

    Scientific Notation (Section 3.8)

    • be able to convert a number from standard form to scientific form and from scientific form to standard form

    • be able to work with numbers in scientific notation
